Capturing history

purpose

Bringing together my love of exploring, my photography and love of history. This blog seeks to be a place to share what I find with the good public and those that have an interest in the story behind what they see.

My main fields of interest are for medieval buildings. These include castles and monasteries, workshops and mines. I mainly focus on the area of the midlands but am known to venture further afield to Wales and beyond.

As well as looking into the history, I am also a photographer and like to record what I see through the lens.

I use a Canon EOS R6 MK3 with a range of lenses and an R7 in support.

I also use a drone where safe and legal, this is the DJI air 3s and for recording on foot a DJI Oslo pocket 3.

Finding the little things like old Roman bridges hidden under main roads.
